Skin Booster injection

WHAT ARE BIOSTIMULATOR SKIN BOOSTERS?

Today, many men and women are looking for treatments to help boost their skin health by improving it from the inside out. One of the skin treatments that is increasing in popularity is skin booster injection, such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, radiesse treatment, and sculptra.

These injectables function to improve skin appearance from the inside out. This is made possible as the injected booster is designed to enhance collagen and elastin production. As such, these injectables can be used on many areas, such as the temples, cheeks, lower cheeks, jawline, neck, as well as areas of the body like the abdomen, arms, and legs.

THE BENEFITS IT OFFERS

The skin is the largest organ in the body, so the visual signs of aging are prominent. Fortunately, collagen stimulators are effective at improving skin structure and creating a more youthful appearance with natural-looking results. Beyond that, skin booster injection also offer the following benefits:
1. Skin rejuvenation
2. Continuous results up to 6 months post-treatment
3. Improve skin volume
4. Provide smoother skin texture and appearance
5. Provide better skin hydration
6. Reverse the signs of ageing
7. Reduce fine lines, wrinkles and folds in the skin
8. Lightening acne scars
9. Stimulate collagen and elastin growth

These benefits are more appealing due to the fact that some of the key elements of biostimulator injections are:
1. Minimal discomfort
2. Quick treatment process
3. No down time

WHO IS SUITABLE FOR IT?

Biostimulator injections are suitable for clients who are looking to restore “volume” in their faces, especially for those who are not too keen on dermal fillers. Additionally, skin booster injections are also suitable for clients who wish to:
1. Regain temple / cheek volume loss
2. Reduce accordion / chin lines
3. Jawline contouring
4. Cellulite improvement
5. Skin tightening
6. Butt / hand volumising

While the injectables are generally safe, contraindications exist for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding; clients who have allergies to lidocaine; and clients diagnosed with certain bleeding disorders.
So, it is advisable that you consult with your doctor and aesthetician before moving forward with the treatment to prevent any complications.

THE PROCEDURE

The aesthetician will advise you to refrain from consuming any supplements with blood thinning side effects and alcohol for 24 hours prior to treatment. For clients who are being prescribed medications, it is important that they are given the greenlight to undergo the treatment by their general medical practitioner.

On the day of the treatment, a topical anaesthetic cream will be applied to the injection site an hour earlier to reduce any discomfort. Next, the area will be disinfected with chlorhexidine. It should be noted that throughout the treatment, it is common to experience some tenderness and tingling sensations, which will subside.

Following the treatment, clients are advised to place a cold compress on the injection site to ease the pain that comes once the numbing cream wears off. Clients will also be advised to conduct post-treatment massages for 5 minutes, 5 times a day for 5 days straight. This will help in reducing nodules that form on the injection site. Additionally, clients will be required to attend post-treatment follow-up appointments to help speed up the healing process and reduce bruising (if any).

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

Biostimulator injections are medical treatments that are prescribed by qualified doctors. Nevertheless, there are risks associated with the procedure, such as:
1. Swelling or bruising at injection sites, which are common
2. Headache post-injection, especially if the injection site is located at the temples
3. Nodules

Moreover, some of the extremely rare post-injection side effects are infections, blindness, and necrosis, which is tissue death. Other than that, some clients may require more than one treatment to achieve their desired results.
